Guess who’s back?!

The Pulaski Middle School Orioles boys’ basketball team returned to action as they welcomed Blacksburg Middle School to the “Orioles’ Nest” in their first game of 2014.
The Orioles kept up their winning ways, taking home a 51-31 victory over the Titans, moving their record to 17-0 on the season.

This Orioles’ victory featured more of their patented high intensity team basketball, with a lot of great passes and some really sharp shooting, which led to a 31-5 Orioles’ scoring run to end the first half. The Orioles’ coaching staff had nothing but good things to say about the performance.”We were able to pick up right where we left off and didn’t really miss a beat,” Coach Akers said.

The celebration of the night’s victory was short lived however, as the Orioles were quick to look forward to Thursday’s rematch against Andrew Lewis Middle school with almost cerebral focus. Even Coach Akers talked about the rematch with excitement. “This was a great way to build momentum for the game tomorrow,” Akers said.

The Orioles had seven players in the scoring column on Wednesday night. CC Grubb led all scorers with 22 points, as Sean Spencer added 10 points and Noah Kyle added 5 points. Alex Akers also scored 5 points, with Trent Blankenship scoring 4 points, Carter Alley scoring 3 points and Alex Dalton scoring 2 points.

The Orioles get no break from action, as they travel to take on Andrew Lewis tonight at 5 p.m. in what could be the toughest game of the year for both teams.
