New River Community College Educational Foundation is accepting applications for endowed scholarships to support studies at the college during the academic year beginning in August.
Qualified recipients will be awarded $1,000 scholarships, which are available for persons of all ages who are enrolled or intend to enroll in specific programs. The deadline for applying is Feb. 15.
Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and scholastic achievement or potential. Most scholarships require the applicant to be a resident of Virginia, living in Giles, Floyd, Pulaski or Montgomery counties or the city of Radford.
Applicants also must enroll in a program of study or declare a major; furnish a fully completed application and two letters of recommendation from non-family members, and furnish copies of high school and/or college transcripts.
Scholarship recipients must maintain a class load of nine credit hours or more at NRCC. Once enrolled, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, unless otherwise noted.
Foundation scholarship applications and eligibility requirements may be found at www.nr.edu/sa. All applications must be submitted online.
