LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski recently held a special luncheon to thank its volunteers and chaplains for sharing the gift of their time.
According to a news release from LewisGale Regional Health System, more than 50 volunteers donated countless hours providing services to patients, their families and guests in 2013. The luncheon included gifts and a special performance by the Pulaski County High School Beginning Concert Choir, directed by Angela Talbert.
According to Jana Beckner, Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services, the hospital volunteers play a critical role in improving the patient’s hospital experience.
“Your time is one of your most valuable assets and to give it to someone in need is truly a priceless gift,” said Beckner. “We are thankful to have such a great group of volunteers and chaplains.”
LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski always welcomes the opportunity for new volunteers and chaplains. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways at the hospital from working the front desk to delivering flowers and visiting with patients.
According the release, they also receive a few perks include a free meal per 3-hours work shifts, an annual complimentary flu shot, and free volunteer jacket.
