The Liberty truck stop on Cleburne Boulevard (Route 100) in Dublin has closed its doors, but customers need not worry as it will be re-opening under new ownership soon. It may also provide a new place to eat.

Holtzman Oil Corp., based in Mount Jackson, recently purchased the property and has an agreement with MidAtlantic Convenience Stores (MACS) to operate it as a Circle K, said Rick Koontz, vice president of Holtzman.

“We will be completely remodeling the store inside and out, and will be putting in new fuel pumps for both the automotive and truck fuel islands,” Koontz said Friday. The business will continue to offer 24-hour fueling, as well as Liberty brand fuel.

Koontz said the Circle K Convenience Store might include a Papa Johns restaurant.

He said no re-opening date has been set since the business will have to go through the county permitting process before work can begin.

“I’m sure it will take several months to complete the project,” Koontz added.
