Dublin Cracker Barrel rumor untrue

By MELINDA WILLIAMS

Rumors of new restaurants, businesses or industry coming to Pulaski County are not uncommon. Some turn out to be true, while many are just that – rumors.

Recently, rumors have started to fly around the county that Cracker Barrel plans to build a restaurant near the Interstate 81 interchange in Dublin. Unfortunately, it appears this rumor is one that is not true.

Contacted by The Southwest Times earlier this week, Cracker Barrel Communications Coordinator Susan Weston put the rumor to rest.

“It is really heart-warming to be wanted and we do not take that for granted in any way,” said Weston in an email. “With that said, there are no specific plans to open a store in Dublin at this time.”

However, she didn’t rule out the possibility of the restaurant coming to the county at some future time, adding, “It is something we continue to discuss.”

It would be nice for Dublin to have either Long John Silver’s or Captain D’s built near the I-81 Interchange. Pulaski County could surely use a brand new seafood restaurant since the Long John Silver’s fire in Fairlawn last November.

Yep, we could use a great fish house. Cracker Barrel isn’t that impressive for their food.
