Downtown Blacksburg to hold film festival

Downtown Blacksburg Inc. and the Lyric Theatre will present the Free Family Film Fest to take place twice over the next couple months.

The Free Family Film Fest will take place Saturday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Films for the festival are currently subject to voting on Downtown Blacksburg Inc.’s website, and will be announced Friday, Jan. 17.

Films in the running for the festival are Matilda, Ghostbusters, The Wizard of Oz, The Princess Bride, and Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit.

After the movie, families are encouraged to eat lunch at one of Downtown Blacksburg’s restaurants, or shop at one of the local stores.

The Free Family Fest will continue in November and December 2014, and again in January, February and March 2015.
