Arthelion Arnold Martin

Arthelion Arnold Martin, 83, of 5289 Ridgecrest Ave. in Pulaski passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.  She was born Aug. 18, 1930 in Cripple Creek, Wythe County, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie G. Arnold and Blanche Dunford Arnold.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Thomas Martin, brothers Auther, Nile and Ballamy Arnold and by sisters Cora Quackenbush, Etheleen Arnold, Doris Arnold and Bessie Crouse.

Suviving are her sons, Marlon C. Dean of Pulaski, Allen W. Dean of Dublin and James M. Dean of Pulaski; special grandson, Thomas Allen Dean of Pulaski; sisters, Margie Peak of Wytheville and            Patricia Martin of Pulaski; brothers, Lonnie R. Arnold and wife, Althea, of Biloxi, Miss. and Eddie M. Arnold of Dalzell, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great nieces and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Lawrence and the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wythe County.

Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.

    I knew Phil for about 60 years, for about 10 years I was her pastor. We loved her and I know she will be missed by many. Blessings to the family, we will be praying that God will comfort each one.
