A press release from Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) states that mobile lane closures will be in place on north and southbound I-81 in various locations throughout the area for pothole repairs. The work will take place from 10 p.m. each night until 6 a.m. the following morning.
VDOT provides information on what to expect on our roads in Pulaski County. The Route 114 bridge replacement continues, weather permitting, and flaggers may control traffic during daylight hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Route 114 (Peppers Ferry Road) due to work associated with the replacement of the Route 114 bridge over the New River. Trucks will be entering and exiting the highway.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, a lane closure will be in place on northbound Route 100 for an inspection of the Route 100 bridge over the railroad tracks in Dublin. The closure will be in place from noon until 5 p.m.
Safety Improvements on various routes will require alternating lane closures during the day the Jan. 6 through 10. Work will include placement of shoulder stone and sign installation.
Weather permitting, crews will patch pavement or potholes on various roads. Flaggers may control traffic at times during daylight hours. Drivers should watch for signs and expect possible delays.
