RADFORD – Two more arrests have been made in connection with a Dec. 9 shooting in which three people already are charged.
According to a press release from Radford City Police Chief Don Goodman, 20-year-old Cady Moriah Tomlin of Fayetteville, W.Va. and Dustin Luna Benitez, 19, of Radford were arrested without incident Thursday. Both are being held without bond in New River Valley Regional Jail on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit burglary with a deadly weapon, and being a principal in the second degree to attempted robbery and armed burglary with a deadly weapon.
Radford residents Kevin Dale Scott Sheppard, 21, Clinton Wade Dillion, 25, and Tonio Donavalle Belcher-Wade, 19, also are being held without bond in connection with the incident. All three are charged with aggravated malicious wounding, burglary and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Dillon also is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police and rescue personnel were dispatched to a shooting at an apartment in the 100 block of East Main Street just after midnight Dec. 9. Police said a 48-year-old white male was found to be bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound in the head.
According to authorities, the victim and witnesses indicated two armed subjects entered the apartment, demanding money. The weapon allegedly fired during a struggle.
The victim was transported to New River Valley Medical Center, receiving stitches and staples to his head; but no one else was injured.
