Monday, Dec. 9 just after 12 a.m., Radford Police and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the 100 Block of East Main Street in response to a shooting, according to a press release sent out by Jenni Goodman Wilder, public information coordinator for the City of Radford.
A 48-year-old white male bleeding from his head from what appeared to be a gun shot was found upon personnel’s arrival. The victim and witnesses stated two armed subjects entered the apartment demanding money. According to the release a struggle occurred and was followed by a weapon being fired.
The victim was taken to the New River Valley Medical Center where he received several stitches and staples to care for the head wound. No others were injured during the struggle.
