Peebles customers and the general public have an opportunity to help needy children through Toys for Tots by participating in several fundraising campaigns sponsored by Stage Stores Inc., parent company of Peebles.

“Christmas is a time of joy and excitement, but many children don’t have the luxury of waking up to lots of gifts under the tree,” said Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores. “We believe partnership with Toys for Tots will provide a way for our customers to make Christmas a little bit brighter for less fortunate children.”

One way customers can help is through the purchase of Peebles’ holiday-themed “Bears that Care” plush bears. Bears that Care retail for $6.98, but Stage Stores will donate $1 to Toys for Tots Foundation for each bear sold through Dec. 24. The bears can be purchased in store and online.

Alternately, citizens can help the drive by “liking” Peebles’ Facebook page. One dollar will also be donated to the charity for each person who becomes a fan of the page through Dec. 24.

Ultimately, Stage Stores will make two separate donations to Toys for Tots this holiday season. The company will donate at least $100,000 from the holiday bear sales, and up to $10,000 from the Facebook campaign.

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them as Christmas gifts to needy children.
