If you’d like to get into the real estate market, New River Community College will offer two real estate courses beginning in January.
Principles of Real Estate will be held on Thursdays from Jan. 23 through May 13 at the Dublin campus. The 6-10 p.m. courses cover will prepare students for Real Estate Certification. In-state tuition is $530.20 for the four-credit class.
The class will cover practical application of real estate principles, including the study of titles, estates, land descriptions, contracts, legal instruments and concepts, real estate mathematics, financing, agency, appraisal, fair housing and management of real estate.
Real Estate Appraisal explores fundamentals of real estate valuation. Students will be introduced to Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Uniform Residential Appraisal Report formulations, working problems and reviewing actual appraisals. Opportunities in the appraisal field will also be addressed.
The appraisal class will be held at NRCC’s New River Valley Mall site Wednesday evenings, 6-9, from Jan. 29 through May 7. In-state tuition for the three-credit course is $397.65.
