Christmas holiday hours and closings announced

Local public offices, utilities and services, and banks have announced hours and closings in observance of the holidays.

The Pulaski County Administration, Town of Pulaski, and Pulaski County Public Service Authority (PSA) offices and drop sites will all be closed from Monday, Dec. 23through Friday, Dec. 25. The Town of Dublin office will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Dec. 27.

Pulaski County PSA has announced there will be no garbage collection on Wednesday, Dec. 25th, Wednesday’s garbage will be collected on Thursday. Both Thursday and Friday’s garbage will be collected on Friday.

Pulaski Post Office will close at noon on Dec. 24th and remain closed Christmas day. The Pulaski Area Transit will be closed Dec. 24 and 25.

Holiday hours for the area’s banks have also been announced. National Bank of Blacksburg (NBB), BB&T, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and StellarOne will close at 2 p.m. On Dec. 24 and remain closed on Christmas day. Carter Bank and Trust will close at 1 p.m. Dec. 24, and remain closed Christmas day.

Pulaski County Public School students were released today, and PCPS will be closed for Winter break Monday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Jan. 6.

    Wow. Now you know who to get a job with. Do these people actually get paid with OUR money for this “closure”? Wouldn’t the rest of us like that? Even the banks and post office are only closed 1/2 and 1 whole day!!! Now that is called special treatment. Plus, the citizens who contribute to the salaries are denied the services for this time.
    As to the Town of Dublin and Town of Pulaski this is a double insult. They pay town and county taxes! Ok now since the office employees get the paid vacation extra time when do the police and rescue squads get this extra time given to them? Equality being an important thing here.
    Medical personal, Walmart employees,etc you are in the wrong line of work!!! If any of your line and work stopped where would citizens go?
    Anyone else see the issue here?
