Shirley Imogene Campbell Fields

Shirley Imogene Campbell Fields passed away at her home Saturday Nov. 23, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Fields, and her son, James W. “Pete” Fields. She was born in Russell County Dec. 14, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Edward M. and Lucille Warner Campbell. Mrs. Fields was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by all.

Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Fields Morris; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Peggy Fields; daughter-in-law, Dreama B. Fields; brother and his wife, Charlie Robert and Doris Campbell; aunt, Helen Warner; grandsons, Jeremy Morris, Matt and Amanda Fields; granddaughters, Audrey Fields, Megan and Joe Sowers, Candi and Nick Yates; four great-granddaughters; two great-granddaughters on the way, and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening, Nov. 26, at 7 from Community Christian Church, Newbern, with the Rev. Ernie Depew officiating. Entombment will be held Wednesday morning at 10 from Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. The family will receive friends at Community Christian Church Tuesday, 5-7 p.m., before the service. The family wishes memorial gifts be sent to American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road SW, Suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24014.
