Man on the Street

By SHANNON WATKINS

Sometimes the best news isn’t what people are doing in the community, but what they’re thinking. We again present a feature about just that, giving you their answers to a single question.

Q: Graffiti that points to gang activity has been noticed around downtown Pulaski, and the police are aware of it. Are you concerned about potential local gang activity?

Edison Vaught, machinist: “It’s always a concern. I haven’t really seen anything. I guess I would have to say no, not really.”

Amanda Groseclose, personal care assistant: “I’m not concerned about it. I mean, I’ve seen it around, but I know of no reason to be concerned.  I don’t see a threat. That doesn’t mean it’s a gang, it could just be kids.”

Michelle White, Walmart worker: “Yeah. I worry about it for the sake of my son when he gets older.”

Wanda Ridpath, para at PCHS: “In this day and time, you need to be concerned about a little bit of everything. The world’s just pitiful. It’s in bad shape. I think God looks down and is displeased with what he sees.”

Donald Lawson, dump truck driver: “Sure. I don’t really have a whole lot I have to say about it. I just hope the police can do something about it before they have to shoot somebody.”
