Dublin Lions Club is hosting a blood drive Monday, Nov. 25, that will give donors a chance to win tickets to the upcoming Virginia Tech, University of Virginia football game in Charlottesville.
The noon to 6 p.m. blood drive is part of the Virginia Tech and University of Virginia Blood Challenge. Donors can register whether they support the Hokies or the Wahoos and the team with the most donors wins the challenge and bragging rights.
Door prizes will be handed out every hour and donors can choose to register to win two tickets to the Nov. 30 state rivalry matchup between the Hokies and Wahoos.
College alumni groups in the area sponsor the Blood Challenge.
Appointments can be made at www.redcrossblood.org, but walk-ins are welcome.
Donors must be at least 16 with parent permission or 17 without permission. All donors must be in general good health and cannot have donated blood for a period of 56 days. All donors must have a photo ID or a Red Cross donor card.
There is no longer a waiting period to donate blood after receiving a tattoo. Donors do not need to know their blood type in order to donate.
Make a difference, save a life. And have some fun in the process. For more information, contact Sandy Myers at 540-330-3966.
