Can your breakfast help keep others in shape? The Hensel Eckman YMCA certainly thinks so.
As part of their ongoing fundraising campaign, the Pulaski YMCA will hold a pancake breakfast at Fatz Cafe in Dublin Saturday, Nov. 9. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage links, maple syrup, butter, mixed fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. In addition, there will be a silent auction with goods and services from various local businesses.
The breakfast was announced Friday by YMCA Executive Director Allison Hunter.
Currently the list of donors for the silent auction includes The Dawg House II, China Wall, Compadres, Pizza Hut, Kimono, Flowers by Dreama Dawn, Food City, Emmanuel Bookstore, Stone’s Carpet and Vinyl, Tipton Ridge Veterinary Hospital, The Tan Line, the Draper Valley Golf Course, Lemon’s Jewelers, Town House Beauty Salon, Hair Fusion, Pat Abbot, Main Street Photography, Maxim Eyes, MK’s Pizzeria, the Meadows Country Club, Thornspring Country Club, the River Course, Dr. Cynthia Southern, Jaclyn’s Hallmark and Big Z Sporting Center.
“We are grateful to all our business supporters for this event and hope to continue to collect more,” said Hunter. “We have already collected quite a few items.”
Proceeds from the silent auction will be used to provide memberships through scholarships to low income residents fighting obesity and nutritional issues. Funds will also provide swim lessons to needy children, youth nights featuring sports, games, entertainment, and mentoring programs as well as providing the staff to organize and lead these programs. Funds are also needed to upgrade lighting in the gym and pool areas and to clean and paint the pool ceiling and walls. In addition, the air circulation systems require improvement and worn out fitness equipment must be replaced.
The Pulaski YMCA fundraiser pancake breakfast will be held at Fatz in Dublin on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m.-10 am. Tickets are $7; children six and under eat free (limit one child to every adult ticket). Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Allison Hunter at 540-980-3671 or via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. or by stopping in at the Y.
