Scott Vest has been announced as the new dean of athletics and activities at Pulaski County High School. The school board’s decision was officially made public Tuesday afternoon.
A 1988 graduate of PCHS, Vest has served PCHS as a coach, teacher and driver’s education instructor. Vest replaces Mark Hanks, former athletic director who moved to a position as assistant principal at PCHS this September.
“Scott is highly regarded and respected in the school community,” said Pulaski County Schools’ Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Brewster. “He is also known for his top-notch organizational skills. He will be an asset to the Pulaski County Athletics and Activities programs.”
Vest’s responsibilities will be coordination and promotion of the PCHS athletic and activity programs. Brewster said Vest will also work in a supportive role “for student athletics, the coaches, sponsors and others involved in extracurricular activities.”
The school system’s release said Vest would begin his duties effective immediately. Vest’s new appointment creates a teaching vacancy in a social studies position, which Brewster indicated would be advertised immediately.
