Friends of Peak Creek (FOPC) will host a second cleanup day, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. The cleanup will be focused on the banks along the town parking lot behind the Dalton Building.
The group intends to meet Saturday morning at the Dalton Building. Volunteers interested in helping with the cleanup are invited to join the effort. The Dalton Building is on the corner of North Washington Avenue and Commerce Street.
Instructions from FOPC are to bring shovels, rakes, picks and other tools and help “restore and reclaim Peak Creek.”
Friends of Peak Creek was established in February 2013 as a “citizens’ group to protect and preserve the environment, historical nature and recreational and commercial value of Peak Creek for the benefit and enjoyment of all.”
