Keeping good employees and time management and organization are among topics to be addressed during New River Community College’s November “Sharper Skills Seminars.”
Dr. Jeanne Symanoskie, NRCC corporate trainer, instructs each workshop, which will be held at NRCC’s New River Valley Mall site in Christiansburg.
“Keeping Good Employees,” to be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, will examine concepts like recruiting versus managing employees, how to connect with employees, maintaining good communication and consistency and fairness. The 3-5 p.m. seminar will be held in room 123.
In “Time Management and Organization,” Symanoskie discusses assigning priorities to daily activities, overcoming procrastination, handling crises effectively and organizing the workspace and workflow. The seminar will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 9:30-11:30 a.m., in room 122.
“Going Further with iPad” builds on basic iPad skills and help users understand topics such as multitasking, push notifications, grouping applications, childproofing and pairing with Bluetooth devices. Apps such as Facebook, Evernote, iBooks, games and iMovie will also be discussed in this Monday, Nov. 18, workshop to be held 10 a.m. to noon in room 135.
