Sometimes the best news isn’t what people are doing in the community, but what they’re thinking. We again present a feature about just that, giving you their answers to a single question.
Q: Do you think retailers should wait to put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving or do you prefer the chance to shop for holiday-related items early?
Mary Lou Jackson, school board office custodian: “I don’t care. I live too far out in the mountains for anyone to see my decorations.”
Shara Linkous, school board executive office assistant: “I think personally they should wait. I like each holiday to have its own special time.”
Alice East, deputy clerk of circuit court: “I shop early. I shop all year long. So decorations don’t affect my shopping one way or the other.”
Trisha Albert, deputy clerk of circuit court: “I think they need to give fall a chance. Thanksgiving gets swept away.”
Bradley Steele, lead singer of Aside Oceans: “It’s just one of those things I never think about. It all just kind of goes hand in hand to me. I expect it.”
Carson Hilton, Volvo worker: “I think they should do it after Thanksgiving. Because all of it is putting the pressure on everybody else.”
Titania Hunter, CVG worker: “I was seeing Christmas advertisements on the TV two months ago and that blew my mind. I feel like it should wait.”
