Animal lovers will have a few chances to get out and have a good time while supporting the Pulaski County Humane Society (PCHS) during the month of October.
Look for the first of these events at Wells Fargo Bank in Pulaski, as they host “Howling Hounds.” This will be an adoption event showcasing Pulaski County Animal Shelter dogs during Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.
Howling Hounds is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. While you’re there, pet and play with the “Hounds from the Pound,” and enjoy hot dogs and baked goods with proceeds going to the humane society. There also will be activities and treats for the kids to enjoy.
The next shot at helping PCHS will come Wednesday, Oct. 30, when Applebee’s of Radford serves as the venue for the restaurant’s first ever cornhole tournament to benefit the animals at Pulaski County Animal Shelter.
Beginning at 5:15 p.m., two-person teams may register to compete in the tournament, which will be held from 6-9 p.m. The entry fee is $5 per team. Applebee’s is located at 33 W. Main St., Radford.
On Oct. 31 the humane society will be welcoming ghosts, goblins and ghouls of all sizes while they serve as a stop on the Dublin Halloween Treat Trail from 3:30-7 p.m. The humane society is at 80 Dublin Park Rd, Dublin.
