Betty Gay Walton Nester

RADFORD – Betty Gay Walton Nester, 75, of Radford, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013.

She was born in Odd, W.Va., the daughter of the late Coy O. Walton Sr. and Jiney Blevins Walton. She was a faithful member of Belspring United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of over 51 years, Ronald C. Nester; daughters, Faith N. Bentley of Radford and Tammy N. Powell of Hampton; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Kim Nester of Radford; grandchildren, Cory Bentley and his wife, Kristin, Billy Ray Powell, Brooke Nester and Sierra Powell; brothers, Coy Walton Jr. of Roanoke, Harold Walton of Woodbridge and Jerry Walton of Troutville, and sisters, Dorolis Addair of Fredricksburg, and Joyce Garletts of Morgantown, W.Va.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Ginny Tompkins and Dr. Jonathon Webster officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 5 p.m. A graveside service will be held Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Belspring UM Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 190, Belspring, VA 24058.

The Nester family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.

    sorry to hear of betty’s passing. she was a good friend when I was a young man in high school. my heart goes out to the Walton family. they were always the best. i’m so sorry.she was a great lady.
