Robert Pierce “Bob” Hanks, age 90, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Pulaski Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 6, 1923 in West Virginia, he was the son of the late William Hanks and Sally Jane Sisk Manuel. He was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
He was a long time member of the Abundant Life Ministries in Pulaski. He was retired from Magnox, Inc in Pulaski.
Surviving are his wife, Alma Anderson Hanks of Pulaski; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Hanks of Harrisburg, Penn., Dennis and Rene Hanks of Pulaski, Keith and Dayna Hanks of Radford, Earl and Judy Hanks of Pilot, and Timmy and Missy Hanks of Pulaski; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Johnson of Carroll County, Mary Gravley of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Mae Huff of Pulaski; brothers, Charles Manuel of Culpepper and Ebb Manuel of Culpepper; special friend of the family, Agnes Martin of Dublin, and special pet, Angel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with Pastor Randall Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home.
