The Hensel Eckman YMCA announces the start of Youth Nights to be held monthly beginning on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 7 – 10 p.m. This program is open to area youth ages 12 to 17. There will be a $2 participation cover charge and participants must show valid school ID.
The first night will be an open gym and open pool night with music and snacks. Activities planned include volleyball, basketball and swimming in the heated indoor pool.
Upcoming plans include a movie night in the pool, with glow sticks and popcorn. Future nights being planned include a masquerade ball, a games and karaoke night, and possibly a lock-in night where youth can bring sleeping bags and camp out in the gym.
The next Youth Night is tentatively set for Saturday, Oct. 26. These nights will be held monthly on Saturday nights and give area youth the opportunity to play and socialize in a fun and safe environment.
Volunteers are still needed to assist on these nights. Anyone interested in volunteering or requesting more information can contact Allison Hunter, executive director of the Y at 980-3671.
