Pulaski police captured a man being sought on multiple warrants Tuesday, but not before chasing him on foot twice.
Pulaski Police Officer Megan Jennings said officers were searching Tuesday morning for a male subject on whom they needed to serve several active warrants. A witness told police a man matching the description of the subject was seen fleeing the area of Meadowview Apartments before officers arrived.
Officers observed the subject fleeing, so a foot pursuit and subsequent search for the man ensued. The search was ended after an hour, but officers continued to patrol the area by vehicle.
An officer spotted the subject later while on a separate call in the area of Randolph Avenue. Jennings said the man fled on foot again. When other officers arrived in the area, the man, identified as 21-year-old Lardadian “L.J.” Banian of Pulaski, was captured.
Banian was taken into custody without incident. The warrants officers were serving on Banian charge him with grand larceny, trespassing, third offense petit larceny and resisting arrest, according to Jennings.
Banian is being held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail.
