Pulaski actor, novelist and screenwriter Rusty Whitener’s new film, “A Season of Miracles,” will play at the Radford Theatre Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 12:30 p.m., according to one of the theatre’s co-owners, Paul Pallante.
“A Season of Miracles” is based on Whitener’s novel of the same name, which also has a sequel, “A Season of Mysteries.” “Miracles” is a faith-based film set in 1974 about a group of 12-year-old Little Leaguers and their bid for the championship. Whitener acts in the film, along with John Schneider, who plays the team’s coach.
The novel and screenplay have won several awards, including the Gideon Media Contest, second place in the 2009 Kairos Prize (presented by Oren Aviv, the President of Production for Disney,), and finalist in the 2009 Christian Writers Guild First Novel Contest.
