New River Valley Alpacas of Draper is hosting a National Alpaca Farm Day event his Saturday and Sunday from 12-4 p.m.
The event will include a demonstration of spinning yarn from alpaca wool, a petting pen for touching the animals and merchandise related to alpacas and made from alpaca wool.
The event is open to the public, says Janis Conlon of NRV Alpacas. “If people are curious about alpacas or llamas, or owning one for themselves, or think they’re cute or would like to get some Christmas shopping done,” says Conlon, “it’s a good event.”
Directional signs will be placed along Route 100. The event will not include public restrooms or food vending on site. New River Valley Alpacas is located at 708 Stillwell Road in Draper. For more information, call 704-779-8720 or visit www.nrvalpacas.com.
