Virginia’s commerce secretary is slated to be in town today for what is being touted as the “largest economic development announcement for downtown Pulaski in a decade.”

James Cheng, Virginia’s secretary of commerce and trade, will be at Pulaski Train Station this afternoon to announce “a new company locating to town, creating many new jobs in a vacant building,” according to a media advisory from Thomas Becher, senior vice president of the advertising firm, Neathawk Dubuque & Packett.

Cheng is to be joined by Delegate Nick Rush (R-12th District), local officials and representatives of the new company.

For more information on “the newest corporate addition to the New River Valley community,” see The Southwest Times’ Facebook page and website, www.southwesttimes.com, as well as Friday’s print edition.
