It’s the middle of one of the rainiest summers in recent memory, but the fish continue to bite.  This week 32 teams were still out to brave the storms at the Rockhouse Marina for their weekly Tuesday night tournament.

First place honors for the July 9 tournament went to James Hash and Logan Callis, who weighed in a five fish limit of 12.55 pounds.   Mickey Anders and Wayne Armbrister took second place with 9.58 pounds.  The third place winner this week was the father and son team of Lyndell and Mitch Price with a 8.50 pound bag.  Fourth place went to Ronnie Wall and Greg Lovern with 7.70 pounds.

The big largemouth prize went to Mitch and Lyndell Price for their 3.69 pound catch.  Big smallmouth honors went to Robert Jones and Brandon Cox for their 2.79 pound catch.

The tournaments run from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a entry fee of $35 per boat per tournament.  There is also an optional big fish contest each week.

Only artificial lures are allowed, and only largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass will be weighed.  There is an 8 ounce penalty per dead fish at weigh-in.  There is a five fish per team limit each night, and there is a 12 inch size limit.  Any boat that brings in more than five fish to the scales will result in the culling of the largest fish first.  There is also a two pound penalty for bringing in a fish shorter than twelve inches.  All boats who enter must go through a boat safety check, and only two anglers are allowed per boat.
