This year Pulaski presents numerous events to bring a sparkle to its citizens’ Independence Day celebration.
The annual Fourth of July parade will be held in the town of Pulaski; lineup starts at 10 a.m. with parade itself starting at 11. Parties wishing to enter a float this year need not register in advance but are required to display a patriotic theme on their float.
The parade will assemble in the Gardner Pawn Shop parking lot at 141 E. Main Street, and travel along E. Main to N. Jefferson Avenue. It will turn left onto N. Jefferson and then right onto W. Main Street towards N. Washington Avenue. The parade will turn right onto N. Washington, cross the train tracks and go into the Maple Shade parking lot.
Thrifty shoppers can bargain hunt in Jackson Park at the flea market, which runs from 8 a.m. until about 1 p.m. The transportation museum will also be open.
Finally, the Pulaski Mariners will play the Danville Braves at Calfee Park at 4 p.m. Admission is free. The award-winning Devil’s Backbone Brewery will have a separate concession stand. The company’s brewmasters will be present selling beer.
