SPEEDWAY, W.Va. – Danny Thomas Stilwell died peacefully in his mother’s arms at 4 a.m. Monday, July 8, at his home on Brush Creek Falls Road, Speedway, W.Va.
He was employed by Appalachian Log Homes of Princeton, W.Va. for the last two years of his life. Danny was born April 20, 1958 in Bluefield, W.Va.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Adams of Brush Creek Falls Road, Speedway; two children, son, Eric Stilwell of High Point, N.C., and a daughter, Carrie Stilwell of Thomasville, N.C.; four grandchildren, all of High Point; three sisters, Wanda Sue Shepherd and husband, Jerry, of High Point, Brenda Carol Comer and husband, Ronald, of Oakvale, W.Va. and Debra Ann Cox and husband, Fred, of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Delmar W. Stilwell Jr. and wife, Prema, of Bluewell, W.Va., Wayne Johnston of Beckley, W.Va. and Frank Adams of Lashmeet, W.Va., and a very special friend and yard mowing buddy, Debra Weiss, of Speedway.
A time of sharing and gathering will be held Wednesday, July 10, 6-8 p.m., at Peaceful Valley Church on Cornbread Ridge Road near Princeton, W.Va. The family has honored Mr. Stilwell’s request that his body be cremated.
