The Lady Cougar basketball program has been working hard this off-season, and this past weekend that hard work continued as three different squads consisting of 24 total players represented Pulaski County at the 2013 Sylvia Hatchell University of North Carolina Team Camp at Chapel Hill.

A varsity, junior varsity, and middle school team played a total of eight games each during the three day event.  Valuable experience and playing time against teams from all over the country, as well as the chance to enjoy some of the finest sports facilities in the country made the weekend even more memorable.  The teams were able to play in the Dean Smith Center and Carmichael Arena, while staying on campus at UNC and enjoying a true taste of campus life.

The middle school Cougars, comprised of players from Dublin and Pulaski Middle Schools, finished the weekend with a strong 6-2 record under Coach Kim Drummond.  The team also earned an additional recognition, earning the Camps Best Defensive Team award.

The varsity and junior varsity squads also did well in the competition, with the varsity team bringing home the Best Sportsmanship Award.

The ladies were escorted on the trip by Lady Cougar Head Coach Jason Grubb, along with Coach Karen Frazier, Coach Drummond, and Coach Steve Alley.
