A man was taken to an area hospital for treatment Thursday night after he accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Brian Wade said police responded to the incident at a residence in the New River section of the county around 10 p.m.
Wade said it was determined a man was holding a pistol in his right hand while working with a dog. When the dog pulled, it caused the gun to accidentally discharge, shooting the man in the leg.
The man was transported to an area hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
