According to the Virginia Lottery, David Wright was on his way to work when he stopped at the Cleburne Boulevard store for a sandwich and some scratcher tickets.
“I was thinking how hot it’s going to be today,” Wright recalled to Lottery officials. “Then I scratched the ticket and said, ‘Not today!’” He quietly left the store without telling anyone he had won a grand prize in the $150 Grand game.
The game features prizes ranging from $5 to $150,000. Wright is the fourth person to claim a top prize in the $150 Grand game, which means only one top-prize ticket remains unclaimed.
