A Pulaski woman was airlifted to a Roanoke hospital Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on Thornspring Church Road.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jeff Saunders said Heather Dawn Edwards, 33, was attempting to cross the road with another woman when a 2010 Suzuki struck Edwards. He said the other woman was not injured, but Edward sustained “severe leg and foot trauma.”

Edwards was transported to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski and then airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hosptial, where she was listed in good condition Monday evening, according to hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart.

Saunders identified the driver of the Suzuki as Kyle Kruger, 18, of Draper. Kruger was eastbound on Thornspring Church Road when the 9:50 p.m. incident occurred a tenth mile east of Alum Spring Road.

The investigation is continuing by sheriff’s office Sgt. Danny Johnson. REMSI and Dublin Fire Department also responded to the scene.
