Those who want to purchase a t-shirt to support their favorite team during the July 20 Safe Haven Guns-N-Hoses softball game will need to pre-order by Tuesday to ensure proper sizing.

Safe Haven Director Ellen Mitchell said Tuesday, July 2, is the deadline for pre-ordering shirts. While she will have some t-shirts for sale on game day, she said they usually sell out quickly and she cannot guarantee the proper size will be available.

This year’s “Guns” t-shirt is Carolina blue with royal blue lettering, while the “Hoses” shirts are red with “caution yellow” lettering. They are available in youth sizes small, medium and large and adult sizes small through 3X. Shirts are $10 apiece.

Place orders by calling Mitchell at 540-808-0096 or by stopping by the Safe Haven building on Fourth Street NW in Pulaski anytime between 1 and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

This is the fifth year for the Guns-N-Hoses event. The 7 p.m. game at Calfee Park pits REMSI medics and law enforcement personnel (the Guns) against area firefighters (the Hoses). Gates open at 5 p.m. so visitors can enjoy a variety of public safety and emergency vehicle displays, entertainment for the children, K-9 demonstrations and more. Pulaski Baseball Inc. will offer concessions for sale and door prizes donated by local businesses will be given away.

This evening of family entertainment is Safe Haven’s only fundraiser and a major source of its income. A non-profit, strictly volunteer organization, Safe Haven provides traumatized, and often abused and neglected, children with a safe place to visit with their estranged parents during court-ordered supervised visitations.
