Pulaski County is in the process of seeking citizens to fill vacancies on two county boards: the New River Community Action Board and the Library Board.

Community Action has one vacancy on its board due to the fact the Rev. Aaron Smith relocated to another area. The board oversees New River Community Action, which offers programs to alleviate poverty and helps low-income families achieve economic security.

Community Action offers programs such as Head Start, Children’s Health Improvement Partnership, Housing and Homeless Programs, VA CARES, Emergency Assistance and outreach services for other human service agencies.

More information is available at the NRCA website: www.newrivercommunityaction.org,

A resident of Ingles District is needed to fill the vacancy on the Library Board. The board oversees issues pertaining to the Pulaski County Library System, ensuring it meets its vision to “continuously provide free, friendly service and access to timely materials that educate, inspire and entertain the entire community.”

Those interested in one of these positions or needing additional information, should call the County Administration offices at 980-7705.
