Ira H. Hayden

Ira H. Hayden, age 70 of Pembroke, departed this life on April 29, 2013 at Heritage Hall, Blacksburg.  Ira was born Oct. 22, 1942 in Pearisburg, the son of the late John Hayden Sr. and Pearl Chapman Hayden.  He attended Giles County Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pearisburg. He was a retired employee of Celanese Corp, Narrows. Ira loved music and sports. He never met a stranger and he cherished his friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Hayden Jr., and two sisters, Mae Craft and Marie Hayden.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Iris Baldwin Hayden; four sons, Hank (Tina) Hayden, James Hayden, Anthony Hayden and Eric Webb; two grandchildren, Jessica Hayden and Demetrius Hayden; two brothers, Lester Hayden and Roger Wagner and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, May 4, at Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church, Pulaski, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sharon Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
