An early-morning fire damaged a Pulaski home.
Pulaski Fire Chief Bill Webb said the department received a call of a structure fire at 216 12th Street NW (the extension) at 4:12 a.m. Upon arrival, they found smoke coming from a single-family residence and discovered the fire was in a basement room.
Everyone was out of the house when they arrived and no injuries were reported. Webb said the cause of the fire is being investigated, but there is no reason to believe it was anything but accidental at this point.
He did not yet have an estimate for the damage, but said the house cannot be occupied at present.
Responding to assist Pulaski Fire Department with the fire and scene control was Dublin Fire Department, REMSI and Pulaski Police Department. Appalachian Power Co. also was called to cut off power to the residence.
The last unit cleared the scene at 6:09 a.m.
Red Cross provided lodging and food assistance for the residents of the home.
