Information about transportation legislation from the recent General Assembly will be discussed in a presentation called “Transportation in the New River Valley,” which will be given by Carol Davis, Community Outreach Facilitator for the Livability Initiative.
The presentation will also include discussion about challenges in public and private transportation in the New River Valley, citizen priorities and solutions.
The Livability Initiative is a three-year grant project through the NRV Planning District Commission that is engaging citizens in our region’s four counties (Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski) and the City of Radford to identify the region’s strengths and challenges. The initiative is funded by the Partnership for Sustainable Communities, a cooperative effort among three federal agencies.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1205 Old Mill Road, Blacksburg, VA. This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the NRV Chapter of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy.
