Roger Duane Gunn

Roger Duane Gunn, age 68 of the Shiloh community of Pulaski County, died Thursday April 4, 2013 at his residence.  He was born on March 16, 1945 in Pulaski County, and was the son of the late Metta Morris Gunn and Romeo Davis Gunn.  Roger was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of Pythagoras Masonic Lodge #239 A.F. & A.M.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, R.D. Gunn Jr. and Douglas Gunn.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Blackmon Gunn; two daughters,  Elizabeth Gunn Humphrey and her husband, Jeff Huskey, of Pearisburg, and Cherie Gunn Adams and her husband, Wade, of Austinville;  three sisters, Sherwood Clark of West Virginia., Ella Sue Gunn and Sandra King of Pulaski County, and grandchildren,  Ethan Humphrey, Zac Adams, and Shawn and Court Huskey.

Funeral services will be held Sunday April 7, at 2 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Rorrer officiating.  Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, where the American Legion Post #58 will conduct military honors.

The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Virginia Chapter, 5540 Falmouth Street, #101 Richmond, Virginia 23230.
