Radford University’s Fifth Annual Highlander Literary Festival scheduled for April 4 has been rescheduled for Monday, April 15 at 7 p.m in Heth 14 at Radford University. The festival, originally set to feature three authors, will now feature only Nikki Giovanni.

Giovanni is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech. Her extensive critically acclaimed body of work includes poetry collections, edited anthologies, prose and children’s books.

Giovanni will read from her work and host a question and answer session. A book signing, with Giovanni’s books available for sale at the festival, will take place after.

“This event is free and open to the public, and we hope people from the surrounding communities will join us,” said English Club Advisor and Coordinator for the literary festival April Asbury. ”Readers, teachers, and writers of all kinds should find something valuable in this festival.”

RU English Club, the RU Quality Enhancement Program, the RU Club Programming Committee, the Department of English, the Honors Academy and the Appalachian Regional and Rural Studies Center are sponsoring this event.
