Pulaski County Public Schools recently launched a newly redesigned website that complements many of the system’s academic departments, schools, information resources, and services. The website, www.pcva.us, is designed to be more user-friendly, with useful links to help with site navigation.
“Our new website has many new features and tools that are helpful to parents, faculty, staff, and students, as well as others looking for information and resources,” said Tim Barnes, director of information technology. “Our intent was to streamline the content on our site to highlight important information and resources.”
The site features major links near the top of the page, where parents, students, and staff can find important information such as news and updates, important documents, calendars, a staff directory, and other important division information.
“The site is also mobile-friendly, which makes it simple to access the site from smartphones and tablets. The overall redesign has made it more accessible for our tech-savvy audience,” noted
Thomas Brewster, superintendent. “We approached this redesign in a forward-thinking manner to not only serve our primary audience, but to also to showcase our school system and student learning.”
Other points of interest on the site include:
• Featured photographs of faculty, staff, and students
• Integration of social media, with quick and easy access to the PCPS Facebook page, Twitter,
Linkedin, and YouTube Channel
• School calendar updates, news, and important events
• Access to important directory information
“We wanted a site that would appeal to all of our users,” said Michael Barbour, chair of the
Pulaski County School Board. “We have a lot of remarkable things happening in Pulaski County Public Schools, and the redesigned website gives us the opportunity to showcase our schools.”
