RADFORD – Radford authorities are investigating two “suspicious” incidents in which a teenage female was reportedly held briefly against her will by a masked man and then let go.

According to Radford City Police Department Lt. Andy Wilburn, an 18-year-old female reported to police Friday afternoon that an unknown male pulled her into a dark colored van between 3-4 a.m. Friday near Third Avenue and Lawrence Street and made her stay in the vehicle for several minutes before letting her go.

Wilburn said the victim indicated the offender did the same thing to her four weeks earlier, but she didn’t report that incident to police. She was “unable to provide a good description of the offender due to him wearing a mask at the time,” he added.

Police are attempting to sort out the details of what occurred, said Wilburn. He noted they also are trying to determine the race of the offender and the make and model of the van.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call the Radford City at 731-3624.
