Dublin Town Council will introduce the town’s new chief of police Thursday night, but Town Manager Bill Parker is keeping mum on the topic until that time.
Parker declined to say in advance of Thursday night’s town council meeting who’s filling the position left vacant when Chief Jay Vest retired the last day of October.
Vest served the town for 31 years, starting out as a patrol officer. He was named chief in 1997.
Vest stepped down due to a state law mandating police chiefs retire at age 70. He said he was just six months shy of reaching that age when interviewed last fall.
