More than 100 area elementary and middle school students will take the stage at PCHS Thursday through Saturday nights in the children’s musical, “SEUSSICAL, JR.!”

This is the fourth year students in Pulaski County High School’s Theatre Arts Department have helped direct, choreograph and produce a children’s play alongside department director, Jeff McCoy.

Thursday and Friday nights’ performances begin at 7 in the Little Theatre. Saturday will feature two performances on the same stage, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

McCoy said the children’s productions give high school theatre students “the opportunity to learn what it is like to be on the opposite side of the spotlight and prepare them for theatre production in college or in the community.”

Children from Pulaski County and other parts of the New River Valley will be performing in the “fun-filled show,” according to McCoy.

According to broadwayworld.com, “SEUSSICAL, JR.!” is one of the most-performed shows in the nation. The website describes the show as a “fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza” that brings favorite Dr. Seuss characters to life in a production that will entertain the whole family.
