One Dora home left-web

The public still has just one chance left to buy an affordable new home in the Dora Highway redevelopment area in Pulaski.

According to Skip Slocum with Community Housing Partners, four of the homes have been sold, one is under contract and only one is still available for purchase.

According to Community Housing Partners, these Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development grant-funded homes are perfect for first-time homebuyers. Some may find their monthly mortgage payments to be lower than what they are currently paying for rent.

In some cases, mortgage payments are as low as $397 per month.

The available home carries the EarthCraftcertification, which means it meets environmentally friendly guidelines for site planning, energy efficiency, waste management and indoor air quality.

To qualify for the home, applicants must meet the following income limits: $29,500 for a one-person household; $33,700 for two people; $37,900 for three people; $42,100 for four people; $45,500 for five; $48,850 for six, and $52,250 for a seven-person household.

For more information or to apply for the home, contact Slocum at the CHP HomeOwnership Center, 540-260-9039 or sslocum@chpc2.org.
