New River Community College (NRCC) will host the New River Valley Job Fair Expo Wednesday, March 27, in Edwards Hall, room 117.
Job seekers attending the expo, which runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will have an opportunity to distribute resumes and connect with more than 50 local employers from a variety of fields. Attendees are advised to “dress for success” and bring at least 20 to 25 resumes.
NRCC’s career advisors will also be on-site to answer job search questions and some employers will be conducting on-the-spot interviews.
The event offers companies and organizations an opportunity to survey potential employees including seasonal workers, technically trained entry-level employees, recent college graduates and experienced professionals.
The NRV Job Fair Expo is sponsored by NRCC Office of Workforce Development, Partners for Self-Sufficiency (a partnership among social services departments in Montgomery, Giles, Pulaski and Floyd counties, and Radford City), New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Board, the Valley OJT Program, the HITE (Health Information Technology Education) Program, Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, Virginia Employment Commission and Rapid Response.
This year’s expo is also a certified “Virginia Green” event. The Virginia Green program helps encourage environmentally sound practices throughout the state.
