Nancy Jeanette Brown Wade, age 80 of Hiwassee, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.
Born Oct. 29, 1932 in Ivanhoe, she was the daughter of the late Emory Clarence Brown and Willie Shipwash Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Wade; son, Nathan Wade Jr.; granddaughter, Teresa Wade and brother, Emory “Billy” Clarence Brown.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy C. and Herman R. Boyd, of Hiwassee, Sylvia A. and Calvin L. Harkrader of Parrott and Sandra E. and Michael R. Cooper of Hiwassee; sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Sandra Wade of Dublin, Clarence O. and Shirley Wade of Indian Valley, and Thomas A. Wade and fiancée, Carolyn Lane of Hiwassee; 13 grandchildren and a special grandson, whom she raised, David A. Wade of Draper. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Leonard Brown and wife, Polly of Roanoke; sister Joann Worrell and husband, Don of California; sister-in-law, Virgie Kingrea and husband, Bob of Dublin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7 at Max Creek Baptist Church, Draper, with Pastor Mike Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
